Cross-Enterprise Image Sharing and Accessibility Panel Discussion

Secure and reliable network transport of imaging studies between disparate facilities is considered the next natural evolutionary step in providing a comprehensive historic patient imaging record to any PACS workstation. During this session, panelists will discuss the technical challenges of image sharing through personal anecdotes and demonstrate local solutions that they have implemented to thwart these obstacles. Portions of the session will be devoted to encouraging audience participants to engage the panel of experts in lively discussion on these controversial topics.

Moderators:
Adam E. Flanders, MD; Thomas Jefferson University Hospital
James T. Whitfill, MD; Scottsdale Medical Imaging

Panelists:

David A. Clunie; RadPharm

Bradley J. Erickson, MD, PhD; Mayo Clinic, Rochester

David S. Mendelson, MD; The Mount Sinai Hospital

Elliot Menschik, MD, PhD; HxTechnologies Inc.
Cyrus Samari; Sorna Corporation

Objectives:

1. Compare and contrast the current limitations of image data sharing between facilities using current technologies (e.g. CD/DVD).
2. Evaluate how cross enterprise image sharing can improve patient care and reduce cost of care.
