The general sessions include the opening and closing sessions and the live workflow demonstration. These sessions spotlight core topics of interest to informatics professionals. Invited speakers and key thought leaders in the field address major issues regarding digital imaging and the electronic medical practice. Beginning in 2009, a general session lecture named in memory of Samuel J. Dwyer III, PhD, FSIIM will feature a SIIM Fellow.
